چکیده

Based on the non-cooperative power control game theory, we propose an efficient and unbiased power control algorithm in cognitive radio network (CRN) by improving the utility function. Without causing interference to the primary users (PUs), this effective utility function balances the fairness and system throughput of secondary users (SUs) via a fair pricing function. The pricing punishment parameter setting depends on the quality of received signal to guarantee the quality of service (QoS) requirement of the SUs. In addition, we prove that the proposed game model has ‘Nash equilibrium point (NE)’ by supermodular game theory and we give the iterative algorithm for the proposed game to attain the optimal power for all SUs. Simulation results show that the proposed game not only enhances the system throughput, reduces transmission power of SUs, and maximizes the global utility, but also takes the system fairness into account to some extent, which differs from other previous schemes.

A New SIR-Based Sigmoid Power Control Game in Cognitive Radio Networks

Interference resulting from Cognitive Radios (CRs) is the most important aspect of cognitive radio networks that leads to degradation in Quality of Service (QoS) in both primary and CR systems. Power control is one of the efficient techniques that can be used to reduce interference and satisfy the Signal-to-Interference Ratio (SIR) constraint among CRs. This paper proposes a new distributed pow...

Adaptive power control algorithm in cognitive radio based on game theory

Cognitive radio (CR) has achieved increasing attention to improve the spectrum utilisation by allowing the coexistence of primary users (PUs) and cognitive users (CUs) in the same frequency band. As the spectrum of interest is licenced to primary network, power control must be carried out within the CR system so that no excessive interference is caused to PUs. In this study, the problem of powe...

Application of Game Theory in Power Control of Wireless Data Networks

With an ever-increasing demand for wireless communications, the significance of an efficient management of the scarce radio spectrum with user mobility in the unreliable propagation conditions becomes more crucial. One of the important components of radio resource management (RRM) is power control. Over the past couple of decades, a considerable portion of literature in RRM has been dedicated t...

Joint beamforming and power control algorithm for cognitive MIMO broadcast channels via game theory

In this paper, we present a game-theoretic approach for the purpose of deriving the problem of joint beamforming and power control in cognitive radio (CR) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast channels (CR MIMO-BCs), where the primary users (PUs) coexist with the secondary users (SUs) and they share the same spectrum. The cognitive base station (CBS), which is equipped with multiple a...

Energy Efficient Non-Cooperative Methods for Resource Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks

In a cognitive radio network wherein primary and secondary users coexist, an efficient power allocation method represents one of the most important key aspects. This paper provides a novel approach based on a game theory framework to solve this problem in a distributed and fair way. Formulated as an optimization problem, the resource allocation problem between secondary users and primary users ...
